Go The Tan – Melbourne’s Official Tan Time Trials

Go The Tan is a key fundraising event organised by FARA(A), around the iconic Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne, in February each year.  The “Tan” running track is well-known to all Melburnians and there are enthusiastic people running on it virtually every minute of every day of the year.  But only once per year is there an opportunity to have your run independently timed – FARA’s Go The Tan event.

Since the event was first run in 2005, participation has grown steadily.  The City of Melbourne has been a generous ongoing sponsor and for the past several years the event has been launched officially by the Lord Mayor.

The festivities kick off on Friday with with a popular Celebrity Challenge and Schools Challenge.  Corporate Challenge teams participate throughout the afternoon.  On Saturday morning we have the VAFA Challenge and individual runners are free to set off anytime.
